First venture into more of landscape piece. Oooofff, I have a lot to learn.

Backstory to why I created this-In August, my neighbor Mrs. Anderson passed away. She was 94, still living in her house until just days before she died. I have known her ever since my family moved into our house-a good 19 years. She didn’t have a funeral on her request but her family made this really cool magazine thing for the whole neighborhood about her life and who she was. It was awesome, she was awesome. And I’m going to miss her.

I truly believe her house so much reflected who she was-it was almost like herself in house form. It a cute, quaint little white house tucked back amongst trees and maintained gardens. Unfortunately, the house will have to come down in the near future due to issues with the foundation of the house amongst other things. And although I understand, it still makes me sad to know the little white house and the wonderful woman who lived inside of it will no longer part of my neighborhood. We’re going to miss that I’m sure of it.

Cool style, you ever try the same process digitally?

not for a whole landscape/scene yet. i've made individual items here and there but that is definitely my next step, esp. now that I am beginning to understand how I like creating these scenes traditionally, it will be easier now to understand how I should construct one digitally (which has been my issue in the past when I've attempted).

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that. :( She sounds like she was a really neat lady. How nice of you to make this in remembrance, in a way. This turned out really neat! Honestly, I really like everything about this. The way you styled the house, lawn, trees, etc. All the different textures are superb and the layers are just beautiful! I hope you plan on doing more of these.

Thanks! :) And yes, I do plan on making more of these for sure-still finding myself as a paper cutting artists and I think I'm going to venture some digital work as well as I've been amassing a huge texture library for myself, time to get at that and start creating. YAY ADVENTURE TIME!
